An Introduction
Veritas vos Liberabit. Simply Latin for what Jesus said, that the truth would set us free. It sounds easy, but my experience with finding truth, walking in it and being free has been and still is a journey. But I’m more committed to truth now then ever. Absolute Truth. Not just honesty but absolute truth. I can honestly believe something but if it’s not the truth my honesty is worthless. I try not to trivialize absolute truth, or claim it if I haven’t experienced it.
As I read again and again John 8:31-32 (KJV) ( …if ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free), I realize this is a process. Continuing in His word qualifies me as a disciple, then I’ll come to know the truth, then I’ll get the freedom.
As an Evangelical Christian (vs. a Liberal or a Fundamentalist/Separatist) I believe Christians need to be in this world and engage the culture. To what degree I’m not sure, but if I’m bringing the Truth to unbelievers I’d better be walking in it. Not perfectly, just continuing in it. And I have to share that part of my story with unbelievers as well. That’s a good start to being genuine and authentic.
I launch this blog to bring my truth as I live it out, discern and observe, in a sober, fair-minded, literate, entertaining, provocative and disruptively innovative style.
Like any serious blogger who wants a platform for writing and other endeavors, I welcome and invite comments, thoughts, ideas, arguments and other feedback. (Just try to make it more light and less heat.)
