Getting Things Done

Like many others, I don’t have a lot of time this season as I really have to push out some end-of-year projects.

Check out this 43 Folders entry on David Allen’s book, Getting Things DoneThe Art of Stress-Free Productivity: http://www.43folders.com/2004/09/08/getting-started-with-getting-things-done

Here’s a summary:

1.  identify all the stuff in your life that isn’t in the right place (close all open loops);

2.  get rid of the stuff that isn’t yours or you don’t need right now;

3.  create a right place that you trust and that supports your working style and values;

4. put your stuff in the right place, consistently;

5.  do your stuff in a way that honors your time, your energy, and the context of any given moment; and

6.  iterate and refactor mercilessly.

Good stuff (that word again), except you lost me on #6 (iterate and refactor?) and I’ve got too many things to get done to analyze it.
